Aloha! Big Island Art Scents was founded in 2014 on the Big Island of Hawaii. We specialize in original works of art, container candles, body and room sprays. We are your pop and pop, candle and art shop!

Our process: Our in house artist and founder, Chris Neil Conner is painter of mostly abstract expressionism, using acrylic and mixed media on canvas. When a fair amount of pieces have been completed, Conner and his husband (and co-founder) Doug Garrett, select pieces, photograph and/or scan them, edit and format and then print them onto high gloss, weather proof, polypropylene labels or matte vinyl labels. After the labels have been created, they are put onto soy candles, created by Conner and Garrett. Our candles are made with 100% non-GMO, additive free USA grown soy, wicked with zinc free, self trimming cotton core wick and scented with Phthalate free fragrance oil and/or essential oils. Our oils and containers are first sourced on Hawaii Island and then what we cannot find here we source through companies we have built a trustworthy relationship with. These same oils are also what we make our Aromas of Aloha body sprays and essential oil room sprays with.

Where is all of this made?

All of our products that we sell are made here on the Big Island of Hawaii. The studio is located a few miles from the slopes of Mauna Kea, technically the tallest mountain in the world. Mauna Kea houses the worlds telescopes and is the reason why it technically snows in Hawaii! Our studio is located on the same property as our home, where we live with our 3 cats and our dog, Rozie. Our studio is not open to the public but you can find us at Hilo Farmer's Market.
