Ingredients: Organic Kava Kava Root


Kava Kava, made from the roots of the Piper methysticum, has been used for hundreds of years throughout the Pacific Islands as an herbal rememdy and for social gatherings. The roots of the Kava plant were dried and then crushed into a powder. The powder was mixed with water before drinking.


The name Kava Kava means "intoxicating pepper." Kava contains kavapyrones, a substance that acts like alcohol making you feel calm, relaxed and happy. Kava is also thought to relieve pain, prevent seizures and relax muscles. Kava has been used to treat many conditions including anxiety, stress, insomnia and premenstrual syndrome. 
  Use 1 (one) tablespoon per 8oz cup. Pour boiling water over the tea, cover and let it steep for 10-15 minutes. *For a stronger tea, steep for an additional 5 minutes.


For a more traditional Kava drink, grind 1 (one) tablespoon of Kava Kava Root per 8oz of water. Wisk ground Kava Kava Root into water until it is thoroughly combined.
